It’s been one of those weeks where I’ve had a foot in every part of my writing life.
I’m deep into Chapter 2 of Unfinished, and it’s not just about heat or tension anymore. It’s about emotional timing. About what happens when the feelings you tried to bury come back with perfect memory, even if everything around you has changed. The writing’s slower this time, not because the story isn’t there, but because something else started tugging at me harder.
That “something else” is my memoir, Journey Through the Maelstrom.
Lately, I’ve been reflecting hard on the early years, my childhood, the systems I grew up in, and how much of who I am now was shaped by both love and damage. Writing fiction lets me hide in the structure. Writing Maelstrom doesn’t let me do that. It demands truth. Even when it’s ugly.
Meanwhile, RealPM continues to evolve, even post-completion. A recent consulting gig hit all the dysfunction buttons, and I decided to turn it into an additional case study. The book might be done, but the problems never stop. That’s why it’s becoming more than a book, it’s becoming a body of ongoing work.
Death Knell Chronicles? Still promoting it. Still proud of it. Still pushing it into the hands of readers who want dark, myth-heavy fantasy with emotional weight. A few doors have opened. A few slammed shut, but I’m not done talking about Maurus. Not even close.
If you’re reading this, you’re still on the journey with me. Whether it’s fire, silence, or memory, I’m writing through all of it.
More soon. Always.
